Instrumental Music Program Information



The School Council operates an extensive Instrumental Music Program, staffed by visiting instrumental teachers and coordinated by Mr. Vern O'Hara.   

Vern is the school Specialist Music Teacher and is an accomplished musician and vocalist.    


As well as lessons in music practice, students participate in ensembles, bands, choirs and orchestra.   Music theory lessons are also provided for students studying towards AMEB exams.



Lessons are scheduled between 8.30am and 5.30pm and are held in one of the dedicated Music teaching spaces in the Performance Wing of the Hall.

Students are also invited to participate in Junior and Senior Band, Junior and Senior Choir, Junior and Senior String Ensembles, Rock Band and Music Theory.

Soirees are held every term for each instrument, a small informal concert for students to display their progress to family and friends.
